Two More Massage Envy Masseurs Facing Legal Problems For Sexual Assault of Clients


By now, the news should be starting to sound familiar.  Massage therapists working at Massage Envy franchises are being criminally charged for sexually assaulting innocent female clients. Two more massage therapists are dealing with criminal authorities. Ruben Omar Bea, a masseur, who was employed at a Massage Envy franchise located at 402-404 Springifeld Ave. in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey has pled guilty to criminal sexual contact in Union County, New Jersey.  The crime to which Bea plead guilty involved penetration of his victim.  On October 2, 2015, Ruben Bea was adjudicated guilty and sentence to three years probation.

According to law enforcement records, Bea was accused of inserting his finger into the vagina of a female client and groping her exposed breasts during a massage appointment at Massage Envy on December 21, 2014.  According to his employment records, Bea had only been working at Massage Envy for approximately one month as of the date of the incident.  Following an investigation by the Berkeley Heights Police Department. Ruben Bea was arrested and charged with criminal sexual contact in Union County, New Jersey. Law enforcement records also reflect that the Massage Envy management secretly videotaped the alleged victim providing her statement to management.  Massage Envy’s internal records reveal that they found the alleged victim’s statement to be “credible.”

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, massage therapist Philip Chenoweth was criminally charged with fourth and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.  According to law enforcement record, Chenoweth is 52 years old and was working at a Massage Envy spa located at 2611 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor.  His alleged victim is a 44 year old female.
