The attorneys at Farmer Jaffe Weissing have filed a lawsuit against famed rap artist The Game on behalf of a female contestant in his upcoming reality show, “She’s Got Game.” The lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Northern District of Illinois against the internationally-known rap music artist whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor. “She’s Got Game” is set to premiere on VH1 on August 10, 2015. The Game previously appeared for three seasons in a VH1 reality show, “Marrying The Game”.
According to the Complaint, on May 22, 2015, while “She’s Got Game” was being filmed in Illinois, The Game took the alleged victim from her hotel room on an after-hours date. Initially, the contestant was led to believe this outing was part of the show. The Game took then took the alleged victim to a nightclub, Adrianna’s Sportsbar in Markham, Illinois. While at the nightclub, it is alleged that The Game was out of control, highly intoxicated on alcohol and drugs (which was typical), and sexually assaulted Plaintiff on several occasions that night. This included him forcefully reaching his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks.
This is not the first time The Game has been accused of misconduct in legal proceedings. According to a police report in Los Angeles County, the Game’s former fiancee Tiffney Cambridge accused The Game of violently attacking her in April 2014 According to published reports, the rapper broke her nose during the altercation. In August 2015, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged the rapper with making criminal threats after he allegedly punched an off-duty police officer during a basketball game in March 2015. In June 2015, The Game was ordered to pay his former nanny more than $200,000 as part of a default judgment after he allegedly defamed her in a rant on Instagram in which he accused her of neglecting his children. In 2012, The Game was sued by fellow rapper 40 Glocc who accused The Game of brandishing a handgun at 40 Glocc and his son during a party in Hollywood Hills. In 2012, a North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled The Game was liable to North Carolina police officers for manipulating video footage to make it appear as though the officers brutally arrested The Game. In actuality, The Game was arrested at a North Carolina mall for criminal trespass, communicating threats and disorderly conduct. In 2008, The Game plead no contest to a felony weapons charge based on an incident in which he got into a dispute with a fellow player during a basketball game on school property and threatened the man with a firearm. He was sentence to 60 days in jail for this incident. In 2006, The Game and other rappers including Snoop Dog were sued by a concertgoer who alleges he was “dragged, kicked, punched, jumped and otherwise severely beaten” onstage at a concert.
