Defective Front-Loading Washing Machines

Certain manufacturers, distributors and retailers make or sell front-loading clothes washers.  They come in a variety of makes and models, including, but not limited to, the Sears HE3, HE3t, HE4, HE4t and Kenmore Elite washer models and Whirlpool’s Duet®, Duet HT®, and Duet Sport® Front-Loading Automatic Washers.  Whatever the make and model, front-loading washing machines all share a common overall design.

Our firm is litigating or investigating consumer complaints concerning front-loading clothes washers marketed by Sears, Whirlpool and LG.  The allegations we’re reviewing concern what some believe to be an inherent defect in the machines, which leads to the build-up of mold, mildew, and/or associated foul odors. This problem allegedly causes clothes to smell and not be cleaned properly. Another alleged problem we’re reviewing deals with failures of the machines’ main computers.   Because of this problem, machines may freeze or shut down.  Sometimes they display error codes like “F11.”
